We formed TWO DAMES AND FRIENDS in 2006 with the vision of helping professional women manage their closets. Over the years our goals have grown, we’ve added employees, and today we pride ourselves on providing just about everything you need to make your living spaces perfect for you. We’re a team of friends who love what we do, and it shows in the attitude we bring to our work: energetic, upbeat, focused on making the care of your spaces—and their transitions—not just easy, but fun.
The Two Dames
Tracey is known for her people skills as well as her experience in organization, interior design, and handywork (she brings her tool box with her on every job). A former flight attendant, she knows how to solve problems while keeping clients calm and happy. She takes the time to listen carefully to your goals, partners with you in designing a plan, and then helps you accomplish those goals. Integrity is an important part of her work ethic and she genuinely enjoys a challenge and a job well done.
Cathy uses her 25 years of experience in the information technology business to keep Two Dames and Friends organized and profitable. Her superb organizational skills handle the behind-the-scenes machinery that makes Two Dames possible. All of this plus talent, charm, integrity, a strong work ethic…and delicious cooking from her native South Africa (her bobotie meat-and-egg bake is to die for).
Our core team members really are friends—we all met as neighbors and moms in a Saint Paul neighborhood. But friendship alone doesn’t qualify someone for the Two Dames team. Each member has been hand-picked by the Dames for her integrity, strong work ethic, talent, experience, and education.
And since each project presents unique challenges, our team members are versatile, bringing a number of different talents and skills to each job. That flexibility—plus our organizing, design, and general problem-solving skills—help us to stand out from the crowd.
Sue whistles while she works (no, really). That’s an indication of how outgoing, upbeat, and easy to work with this Friend is. She’s a DIY champ with major interior design skills; that, and her ability to problem-solve and follow through with the most complex projects, have made her a valued member of our team. She once owned her own styling salon and still cuts hair from time to time—ask her about it.
Maria is cheerful, hard-working, detail-oriented, a mother of four, and—there’s no other way to say it—a cleaning geek. She once ran her own cleaning service, and she’s passionate and knowledgeable about cleaning tools, products, and processes. She’s also a credentialed social worker with a real feel for people’s needs (and an infectious laugh).
Melissa loves to entertain in her beautiful home. Her superb sense of color and style makes her our team lead in staging and interior design. She’s also great at cleaning and setting up moves—her organizational and problem-solving skills continually amaze us; we have yet to see her stumped by a challenge. And she does it all with grace and charm.
our other friends
We’ve established relationships with a variety of service providers and licensed contractors on whom we can call as needed. These skilled craftspeople work with us to paint, fix, re-do, and even abate mold—to make sure that your space ends up just the way you want it.
We abide by a strict code of ethics. All our employees must complete a background check, and our subcontractors are licensed and insured.
Two Dames and Friends is a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO).
We respect your right to privacy and require all employees and Friends to abide by strict confidentiality guidelines.
RESPECT FOR YOUR RESOURCES
Our goal is to help you meet your goals in a timely and financially manageable way. We pride ourselves on our efficiency, saving you time and money. Often, our work substantially reduces time to market and sale of homes, and we help you sell and/or make tax-deductible contributions of the belongings you no longer use.
RESPECT FOR YOUR HISTORY
We know that your home and belongings are rich with history and charged with emotion for you, and as we help you make decisions about what to keep and what to let go of, what to digitize and what to donate, we commit ourselves to compassionate listening and the utmost respect for your priorities.
RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
We use environmentally safe products, and we promote reuse; through established relationships, we find new homes for things you no longer want or use.
